Our acute “walk-in” clinic is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm for enrolled patients only. This clinic is intended for urgent health concerns or new injuries that have developed within the last 24 – 48 hours, such as; abdominal pain, respiratory issues, UTIs or other sudden or acute medical conditions. Please note that this service is not for routine or ongoing health issues.
Children 13 years and under can be seen for ALL concerns in our walk-in clinic.
To ensure we can see as many patients as possible during the walk-in clinic, we ask that you present with only one concern per visit.
While we strive to treat all patients safely and efficiently, there may be times when we reach capacity and are unable to see everyone the same day. If this happens, you will still be triaged and provided with guidance on the most appropriate next steps.
All registered patients are enrolled under Henderson Medical Centre. However, patients have the option to book appointments with a specific GP of their choice and can establish long-term continuity of care with that GP. If one or more providers reach capacity, reception staff will inform patients and suggest the next available, suitable provider.
If your regular GP is fully booked for an extended period, please speak with our friendly reception team. They will help match your concern with another available provider. Our team of highly qualified and experienced Doctors comes from diverse backgrounds, with a wide range of interests. They regularly collaborate to share knowledge and provide the best care possible.
Henderson Medical Centre is closed on Saturday and Sunday. We are however, open till 8:00 pm on a Monday and Wednesday evening. To check out our operating hours, please click here.
If you are unable to physically attend the clinic and require a home visit from your regular GP, please call us on 09 837 1110. We will then refer you to our Practice Coordinator, who will liaise with the appropriate clinician and assist in setting this up for you.
If you are unable to attend your appointment or no longer require it, please notify Reception by phone (09 837 1110) or email ([email protected]). We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise. However, where possible, we kindly ask that you provide at least 3 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Failure to provide notice may result in a non-attendance or late cancellation fee. This applies to all age groups: adults will be charged 50% of the service fee, and a flat fee of $10 will apply for children aged 13 years and under.
We accept Cash, EFTPOS, Credit Card (no surcharge), PayWave, and Apple Pay at Reception.
You can also pay over the phone with your credit card (for virtual consults). Online payments can be made via the MyIndici patient portal. To pay via internet banking, please contact Reception on 09 837 1110 or email [email protected] for our bank details, or refer to your invoice.
Use your NHI number as a reference for all online payments.
Payment is required at the time of consultation or in advance for virtual appointments. Henderson Medical Centre does not offer account-based billing. If you need to arrange a payment plan, please contact us before your appointment.
A Doctor (GP) is a medical specialist with extensive training who can diagnose, treat complex conditions, and prescribe all medications. A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice nurse who has completed extensive additional training and education. NPs are qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of health conditions, prescribe medications, and often emphasise holistic and preventive care. They may work independently or in collaboration with physicians, referring more complex cases to a General Practitioner (GP) when necessary.
Yes, you can view your recent test results online through our MyIndici patient portal. Results are typically available within one week. Once your results are received, the requesting health professional will review them and add any necessary notes before releasing them to the portal. If you’re unable to find your results online, please call 09 837 1110 to leave a message for our Practice Coordinator, who will follow up with you.
You can access clinical reports, medication history, and your appointment history once signed up to our patient portal, MyIndici. To register, click here. If there are specific medical documents you would like to access that are not available to view on the MyIndici patient portal, please call us 09 837 1110 to leave your request with our coordinator, who will aim to respond to your request within two business days.
Making an appointment with your Doctor is always the best way to obtain a repeat prescription, as it gives your Doctor an opportunity to review your ongoing need for medication. Providing repeat prescriptions without an appointment is therefore solely at the discretion of your Doctor. Our Doctors are unable to provide repeats if you were not seen for your last prescription, or if your medication was changed at your last visit. An appointment is always necessary for medications such as antibiotics.
If you would still like to proceed with your prescription request, long-term medications can be requested via the MyIndici patient portal. However, all repeat prescription requests are reviewed by a Doctor, Nurse, or our on-site Pharmacist Prescriber. In some cases, you may be asked to book an appointment before a prescription can be issued. Medications should be reviewed at least annually, though some patients may require more frequent check-ins. Repeat prescriptions requested via phone or through MyIndici will be sent to your nominated pharmacy within 48 hours.

Our standard fee schedule can be viewed here (insert link). Fees are based on standard 15-minute appointments and generally cover one or two issues. If you feel that you may need longer or have more issues to discuss, please book a double appointment. There is an additional charge for longer appointments.
We strive to run on time for all appointments. However, providing each patient with the care and attention they need can sometimes take longer than expected. In some cases, Doctors may need to attend to urgent situations or coordinate with the hospital, which can cause delays. If you’re concerned about your wait time, please don’t hesitate to speak to Reception – they are there to help.
