What to Expect During the Procedure:
- Preparation: The target area is meticulously cleaned, and a local anaesthetic is administered to ensure the entire procedure is completely painless.
- Excision or Biopsy: The doctor carefully removes the tissue or lesion. Depending on the clinical goal, this may be a punch biopsy to test a sample or a complete excision with clear margins.
- Stitching & Dressing: Fine, high-grade sutures are used to close the skin neatly, followed by a sterile, protective clinical dressing.
- Laboratory Analysis: All removed samples are immediately sent to an accredited New Zealand laboratory for full histopathological analysis to provide you with definitive results and peace of mind.
